Pulchritude

meaning: loveliness, beautiousness, fairness; from the Latin.
This word has been a hot topic at work this week. Patrick used it, and I admitted to being unfamiliar with it. (I give myself props for admitting I didn't know something, and my desire to learn.) This took on a life of its own, especially when the very next day (no lie) he randomly came across this article:
The first line reads "Dr. Carol Coke, leading exponent of feminity and pulcritude..."
Yeah. The paper is The Minneapolis Twich: A Consolidation of Mpls. Spasm & Minnesota Jerk, (clearly a bit of a gag) from September 10, 1942.
This is what we do for fun. I love my job.

What was she thinking?

I returned something the other day to our friendly...well, neighborhood at least...Target. While I waited (and waited), I noted my fellow returnees. The most curious was the woman returning large wicker baskets...twelve of them. It required two shopping carts to bring them all in...even more surprising was that they were purchased on three different occasions. What? She couldn't see the ugliness (or the fact that she didn't like them, or that they wouldn't work for whatever her purpose was) until maximum density had been reached? "Just one more, that will really bring it all together..."

Molly and the monkey

I need to branch out more in my blogging, but first I need to get back into the habit. So I offer a simple photo for now...more coming soon. Really. And just look at these cute little monkeys!

Molly's choice

Molly insists I post this picture of her and her beloved cousin Anna on the piano. Beautiful music was made.

Future

In an effort to get away from obsessively thinking/talking about snow, I will share this yearbook cover that came into work today. Lovely.
