My Dunlap Broadside
Okay, so it's not...but it sure was fun having this copy of the Declaration of Independence around. This photo was taken by Tom Crann, host of All Things Considered on MPR. He interviewed me about this particular document, about which I learned a great deal...feel free to ask. But be forewarned, I can talk a lot. And yes, I admit to a bit of separation anxiety.

When you love something, you have to let it go free to test its own wings. "I love you, Dunlap broadside. I will always remember you, but now must fold you into a colonial paper airplane, and launch you from the 2nd story window of the museum. Live free, live free..."
1. Freedom does not appear in the document.
2. Freedom is not free.
3. Paper airplanes are hard.
I'm confused—I thought that freedom's just another word for "nothing left to lose"?
