Things I've seen in the last week

1. A typed letter from Sinclair Lewis to his friend Vincent, talking about the nine months he'd spent in Minnesota researching his book (I suspect Main Street, but it didn't say). It is signed "Red", as most of his personal letters seem to be. Sometimes I wish I had a nickname like Red.
2. A hand written letter from F. Scott Fitzgerald to a local librarian, who apparently had requested more of his work. In response, Fitzgerald pointed out that he was only 22 and so hadn't done much yet.
3. Hand written lyrics by Bob Dylan for "Temporary Like Achilles." Love that title.
It's been a pretty good week.
