Fishing

It's been awhile since we've had an installment of cool ephemera from my work, so here it is. I don't remember the exact date on this but I believe it's from the 1950s.Clearly, it is the graphic I love more than the fishing. The back is cool too...environmentalism is not a new invention.

For sure, environmentalism is not a new invention, but reflect on the fact that "faithfully defending from waste" our
"natural resources" can take on many forms, some of which may not be so good for the environment...
Cool graphic, and a nice statement.

Notice that this brochure is produced by the Department of Business Development. What government agency devoted to business development today would have the cojones to say--nay, to demand that citizens pledge--that environmental protection is a patriotic duty? Has the Chamber of Commerce seen this?
Kari is right to be skeptical. Who knows what those words mean to the folks at Business Development? But what refreshing evidence that people were not always trapped in the ridiculous stance that saving the planet is bad for business--nor always having to argue against it.

And yes, the design--old stuff is better.
